Hello, this is DM Dermatology Clinic. Lifting treatments are among the most well-known and effective procedures, and with recent advances in equipment, a wide variety of options now exist. When choosing the right treatment for you, you should weigh both cost and results. Since the choice of device and the cost of an Apgujeong lifting treatment inevitably depend on the patient's biological age, in other words their skin condition, they will vary from person to person.

Lifting Treatment Options by Price Range

Apgujeong lifting treatments can be broadly divided into low-, mid-, and high-priced options. Representative low-priced options include HIFU devices such as Shrink and Tensera, mid-priced options include domestic RF devices such as Serf, Oligio, and Tensema, and high-priced options include Thermage and Ulthera Prime.

Younger patients are more likely to prefer low- or mid-priced treatments for financial reasons. These treatments also guarantee 100% results, and young skin supports those results well. However, low-priced treatments tend to have shorter durations, so they are typically performed multiple times or at shorter intervals.

Once you reach your 50s or older, lower-priced treatments may not produce noticeable results, and even after undergoing a high-priced treatment, some patients may feel disappointed. This should be prevented in advance through thorough consultation with your Apgujeong dermatologist.

Mid-priced treatments such as Serf and Tensema also achieve very high satisfaction among middle-aged patients in their 40s and older. This is thanks to advances in equipment and treatment techniques.

High-priced treatments such as Ulthera Prime and Thermage are effective for people of all ages, but their higher cost should be taken into account. This does not mean they are two to three times better than low- or mid-priced options. Just as an imported car is not several times better than a domestic car simply because it costs several times more, results do not scale proportionally with cost.

Treatment Intervals and Duration of Results

The ideal interval between lifting treatments varies from person to person, depending on skin condition and individual physiological characteristics. For people in their 20s and 30s, results can last from six months to a year, but for people in their 50s and 60s, results may not even last three months, let alone six. Treatment should be tailored to your individual circumstances to achieve greater satisfaction.

Much like how those who persistently strive for their goals end up with good results, those who take their skin care seriously see steady improvement over time. The more consistently you receive lifting treatments, the more their cumulative effects gradually improve your appearance, and your face no longer deteriorates the way it used to.

It is possible to have another treatment the following month if you are not satisfied with your results, but any treatment can cause problems if overdone. For this reason, it is important to proceed only after thorough consultation with a qualified professional, such as a board-certified dermatologist in Apgujeong. Making treatment decisions unilaterally on your own may not be a good choice.

Treatment Volume to Prevent Overtreatment

Overdoing lifting treatments may actually prevent you from fully feeling their effects. People naturally expect a return on what they invest, so if they cannot notice what a treatment has done, they may feel dissatisfied. As a result, when their appearance no longer seems to improve, they may feel anxious or discouraged. However, there are also cases where skin is already in good condition and there is little room left for further improvement.

If the treatment was not at fault and you did not choose an unsuitable approach, you should accept that your skin has little room left to improve. If you still want further improvement, look for other solutions through an objective assessment by your medical team, or be content with maintaining your current condition.

There is no legally mandated limit on the number of shots (lines) for lifting treatments. When devices such as Ulthera or Thermage were released, there was no concept of approving a specific number of lines for the facial area or eyebrows.

For Ulthera, we do not recommend 600 lines. If you wish to undergo 600 lines, we recommend splitting them into two sessions of 300 lines each. We believe around 400 lines is enough to cover the entire face and neck.

For Thermage, the standard is typically 600 shots. For younger patients, 300 shots are sufficient. For middle-aged patients in their 40s and 50s or older, 600 shots can cover both the face and neck.

Treatments performed deeply and intensely can cause pain that patients find hard to endure, so it is better to split sessions rather than pushing for excessive treatment in one go. This is much like how steady, regular studying becomes a true asset, as opposed to cramming the night before an exam.

Deeper and stronger treatment does not necessarily lead to better results, but there are times when results can only be achieved that way. What matters most is finding the approach that suits you through thorough consultation with the medical team at a trustworthy Apgujeong lifting clinic. Medical staff and patients need dialogue, not one-sided marketing or advertising.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many lines are recommended for Ulthera treatment?

Around 400 lines is generally recommended. Roughly 400 lines is enough to cover the entire face and neck. If you want 600 lines, we recommend splitting them into two sessions of 300 lines each rather than undergoing everything at once.

What is the appropriate number of Thermage shots by age?

Depending on age and skin condition, 300 to 600 shots is appropriate. Younger patients with relatively firm skin can see sufficient results with 300 shots alone, while those in their 40s and 50s or older are better served by 600 shots to treat the entire face and neck.

How long do lifting treatment results last?

Results vary from three months to one year depending on age and skin condition. In those in their 20s and 30s, results typically last six months to a year, but in those in their 50s and 60s or older, results may be shorter, lasting from three to less than six months due to the progression of aging.

Do lifting treatments need to be intense to be effective?

No. Treating deeper and more intensely does not automatically produce better results. Intense treatment can cause pain that is difficult for patients to bear, so it is preferable to split the treatment volume into multiple sessions tailored to your condition rather than opting for excessive treatment.
